Mara Elliott for City Attorney 2020

It is unlawful to reimburse an individual’s contribution to a City candidate unless the reimbursement is made by another individual and the names of both individuals are provided to the candidate. Political contributions are not tax deductible. City law permits only personal contributions and limits contributions to $1,150 per individual, per election. A couple may contribute $2,300 per election per couple from a joint account if both parties sign the check, credit card authorization form, or an accompanying letter. Contributions from businesses, labor unions, PACs, and other types of “organizations” are prohibited. We may not deposit your check or credit card payment without your name, address, occupation and employer, and may not accept cash, cashier’s checks, or money orders over $99. We may not accept contributions from foreign nationals.
